Heptafluorobutyric anhydride is alwasy used as derivatization reagent of gas phase chromatography. It should be stored at room temperature. It is a kind of  clear, colorless liquid.  Odor: strong pungent stench; sharp acidic Corrosive liquid and vapor--Heptafluorobutyric anhydride can decompose on contact with water or moist air.  Under fire conditions, hydrofluoric acid may be produced, that in contact with metals can generate flammable/explosive hydrogen gas.  Corrosive--Cause burns to all body tissues.  Permanent eye damage possible. It may be fatal of toxic if swallowed or inhaled.
